JurnalPost.com - A total of 1,207 Government Employees with Work Agreements (PPPK) serving as Penghulu (marriage registrars) are undergoing capacity-building training. This initiative aims to enhance the technical, managerial, and socio-cultural competencies of the registrars in providing services to the community.
The training is attended by Penghulu from the 2024–2025 PPPK recruitment cohorts. The program is being conducted in two batches.
"For the first batch, we have invited 539 participants," stated the Head of the Sub-directorate for Penghulu Guidance at the Directorate of KUA Guidance and Sakinah Families, Zudi Rahmanto, on Monday (2/11/2026).
The first batch of training is taking place from 2–5 November 2026. Meanwhile, the second batch is scheduled for 16–19 November 2026. The training is being held in a hybrid format. Participants from the Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi areas are attending the sessions at the Ministry of Religious Affairs' Training Center campus in Ciputat.
According to Zudi, this training is a mandatory step for PPPK Penghulu to fulfill their professional requirements. He noted that there are three prerequisites to be met: holding an appointment decree as a First-Expert Penghulu, completing technical guidance on marriage registration, and finishing the capacity-building training.
Beyond improving competence, Zudi emphasized the importance of maintaining integrity and ensuring services comply with regulations. He reminded the Penghulu to avoid any actions that contradict established rules and to cultivate effective communication with the public.
"Be Penghulu who possess greater integrity and are capable of communicating effectively with the community we serve," he advised.
Through this training, he hopes that the Penghulu will be able to elevate the quality of marriage registration services while providing greater benefits to the public.
