TUBAN, JurnalPost.com – The hosting of the 32 Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur’an (MTQ) at the Tuban Regency level in 2026 served as a significant momentum to strengthen Islamic outreach while developing the potential of the Quranic generation. The event, which took place on Saturday, 17 October 2026, also provided valuable experience for interns involved in supporting its smooth execution.

The 32 Tuban Regency MTQ was attended by 476 participants, consisting of 412 delegations from 20 districts and 64 independent participants. This event is part of the Tuban Regency Government's agenda to encourage the strengthening of religious values and increase public affection for the Al-Qur'an.

Behind the scenes, interns placed in the People's Welfare Division (Kesra) of the Tuban Regency Regional Secretariat took part by providing administrative support and coordination.

The involvement of these students not only assisted with tasks within the Welfare Division but also served as an opportunity to gain firsthand insight into government work processes in organizing regency-scale events.

Playing a Role in Administrative Preparation

Prior to the 32 MTQ, the interns assisted with various administrative tasks that were part of the event's preparation.

Tasks included document organization, participant data management, and the preparation of various supporting materials as directed by supervisors and Welfare Division staff.

Although seemingly simple, administrative work plays a crucial role in ensuring that every stage of preparation proceeds in an orderly and coordinated manner.

Precision in data management, neatness in document compilation, and the ability to communicate with relevant parties were key aspects emphasized while carrying out these duties.

Throughout the process, the interns worked under the guidance of supervisors and did not take over the responsibilities of the organizing committee. Their presence served as additional support to help facilitate technical and administrative work.

Through this experience, the students gained an understanding that the success of a government event is determined not only by the execution of the program itself but also by administrative readiness and coordination from the planning stage.

Supporting the Smooth Execution of the 32 Tuban Regency MTQ

On the day of the event, Saturday, 17 October 2026, the interns were again involved in assisting with various support needs within the Welfare Division of the Tuban Regency Regional Secretariat.

The support provided included administrative work, assisting with coordination needs, and performing technical tasks as directed by their internship supervisors.

The 32 Tuban Regency MTQ featured 24 categories across eight competition branches, namely Syarhil Qur'an, Fahmil Qur'an, Tilawah, Qiraat Mujawwadah, Hifdzil Qur'an 1–30 Juz, Tafsir, Khath, and Scientific Papers.

The entire series of competitions was held at 11 locations spread across the Pendapa Kridha Manunggal area and the Tuban Regency Regional Secretariat.

The large number of participants, competition branches, and event locations highlighted the importance of effective coordination between the committee and all supporting parties.

For the interns, involvement in the event provided a glimpse into the dynamics of government program implementation involving multiple stakeholders.

They were able to observe how administrative work, communication, and coordination are interconnected to support the success of an event.

Although not part of the main organizing committee, the contribution of the interns served as a form of youth participation in supporting local government programs, particularly in the fields of religion and community welfare.

A Means for Learning Public Administration

The involvement of interns in the 32 Tuban Regency MTQ was not only focused on completing assigned tasks but also served as part of the learning process within a government work environment.

Through this activity, students gained direct experience in the application of public administration, ranging from document management and inter-party coordination to supporting services for community activities.

This experience provided an understanding that public administration has a broad scope. Its application is not limited to routine work in government offices but also encompasses the implementation of social, religious, and community empowerment programs.

In addition to broadening their insights into government governance, the internship served as a means to develop soft skills required in the professional world.

The students learned about the importance of responsibility in completing tasks, time discipline, precision in work, and the ability to communicate and collaborate with various parties.

Working alongside government officials also provided an opportunity for students to understand professional work culture, including following instructions, maintaining coordination, and adapting to organizational needs.

Encouraging Active Student Participation in Government Activities

The participation of interns in the 32 Tuban Regency MTQ demonstrates that internships can serve as both a learning space and an opportunity to contribute meaningfully.

Through direct involvement in government activities, students not only gained practical knowledge but also understood the importance of the role of every supporting element in achieving common goals.

This experience is expected to serve as a foundation for students in developing their academic and professional competencies, particularly those related to public administration and public service.

Moving forward, interns in the Welfare Division of the Tuban Regency Regional Secretariat are expected to continue participating actively in supporting various local government programs.

This contribution also serves as a lesson that the younger generation has the opportunity to play a positive role in community development, including through support for religious activities that strengthen values of togetherness and affection for the Al-Qur'an.
