Throughout its implementation, the ISMKI FK Unsri Service Month 2026 successfully reached 1,722 participants from various community groups. This figure significantly exceeded the minimum target of 150 participants set during the planning phase.

Based on the organizers' evaluation, 90 percent of respondents rated the activities as well-executed and enjoyable. These results reflect a positive reception from participants toward the various health education and service programs provided.

Elderly Health Screenings and Disease Prevention Education

One of the primary agendas of the ISMKI FK Unsri Service Month 2026 was providing health counseling and screenings for the elderly at the Harapan Kita Social Home for the Elderly in Palembang.

During the event, the elderly received services including blood pressure checks, blood glucose, cholesterol, and uric acid testing, as well as waist circumference measurements.

These screenings aimed to help participants identify their health conditions while increasing their understanding of disease risk factors that require early attention.

In addition to health screenings, students provided education on the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle and conducting regular health monitoring, particularly for elderly groups at higher risk for non-communicable diseases.

Promotive and preventive efforts were also realized through blood donation drives and the opening of health education booths for the general public.

Through various interactive activities, visitors were encouraged to identify disease risk factors, understand health myths and facts, and learn simple habits that can be adopted to maintain physical well-being.

This approach is expected to make health information more accessible while encouraging the public to apply it in their daily lives.

Engaging Students in Health Literacy Development

Beyond focusing on public health services, the ISMKI FK Unsri Service Month 2026 also presented educational activities involving students.

One such initiative was the Medivers Project, which hosted a public poster and scientific essay competition. This competition successfully attracted interest with a total of 101 registered teams.

The activity provided a space for the younger generation to express ideas, develop critical thinking skills, and propose solutions to various public health issues.

Other program series included webinars, seminars, and focus group discussions focus group discussion (FGD) addressing various health topics.

BEM KM FK Unsri also held an Open House and Tour de Campus, which was attended by 93 students from seven schools.

Through this activity, students had the opportunity to get a closer look at the medical education environment, student activities, and the contributions of healthcare workers in providing services to the community.

These various agendas demonstrate that health education can be delivered not only through counseling but also through academic activities, competitions, and direct interaction with the younger generation.

Digital Health Campaign Reaches Over 700 thousand Views

The reach of the ISMKI FK Unsri Service Month 2026 was not limited to face-to-face activities. The organizers also utilized digital media to expand information dissemination and increase public awareness of health issues.

The health campaign published via Instagram recorded more than 700,000 views.

Information dissemination was further strengthened through partnerships with various publication outlets and radio broadcasts via RRI PRO 2 Palembang and ISWARA.

The use of these various communication channels allowed health messages to reach individuals who could not attend the activities in person.

Through digital campaigns, information regarding disease prevention, healthy lifestyles, and the importance of health screenings is expected to reach a wider segment of the population.

Elderly Screening Results Developed into Scientific Articles

In addition to generating social impact, the ISMKI FK Unsri Service Month 2026 also contributed to the academic field by utilizing data from community service activities.

Primary data obtained from the elderly health screenings were processed in collaboration with FKIA FK Unsri and BAPIN as material for drafting scientific articles.

The articles have been submitted to the Indonesian Medical Student Scientific Journal (JIMKI) to undergo the scientific publication process.

This step is part of an effort to bridge community service activities with data-driven knowledge development.

Consequently, the results of the activities not only provide direct benefits to participants but also have the potential to serve as a source of information for the development of public health studies.

Collaboration Among Various Parties Strengthens Program Implementation

The success of the ISMKI FK Unsri Service Month 2026 was made possible by the support of several institutions and organizations involved in its execution.

Partners supporting this event included the Palembang City Health Office, Dempo Community Health Center (Puskesmas), the Blood Transfusion Unit of RSMH Palembang, FKIA FK Unsri, TBM Sriwijaya, Medifka Unsri, MetaboRise Initiative, BAPIN-ISMKI, ISMKI Region One, and various other partners.

This cross-institutional collaboration was a key factor in expanding the reach of the activities while strengthening relationships between medical students, healthcare workers, educational institutions, and the community.

Through the involvement of various parties, the program's implementation was oriented not only toward the number of participants but also toward increasing public awareness of the importance of maintaining health sustainably.

The conclusion of the entire ISMKI FK Unsri Service Month 2026 series reaffirms the role of medical students in making tangible contributions outside the academic environment.

For BEM KM FK Unsri, community service is not merely about organizing social events, but also an opportunity to apply knowledge, build empathy, and develop disease prevention approaches that are more closely aligned with community needs.

Through the spirit of SPARK, the organizers hope that the various initiatives implemented will encourage the growth of a community that is increasingly health-conscious, resilient, and capable of playing an active role in maintaining its quality of life.
