JurnalPost.com — Gema Wong Cilik Nusantara is calling for national unity to be maintained amidst the resurgence of legal and political polemics related to the results of the 2024 Presidential and Vice-Presidential Election.
The Chairman of Gema Wong Cilik Nusantara, Muh Nur Cahyono, stated that expressing opinions and utilizing legal channels are the rights of every citizen. However, he noted that the decisions of authorized state institutions must also be respected as part of constitutional order.
“We believe that continuously questioning the results of the 2024 election risks dividing the nation. The President of the Republic of Indonesia is urged to firmly maintain stability, unity, and constitutional order,” said Muh Nur Cahyono in a written statement on Monday, 22/9/2026.
In its statement, the organization addressed the process of determining the results of the 2024 Presidential Election, which had already undergone legal stages at the Constitutional Court (MK).
On 22 April 2024, the Constitutional Court rejected the election dispute petitions filed by the pairs Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD. The ruling included a dissenting opinion from several constitutional judges.
Following the Constitutional Court process, the General Elections Commission (KPU), through KPU Decree Number 504 of 2024 dated 24 April 2024, declared Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka as the elected president and vice-president for the 2024–2029 term. The KPU recorded that the pair secured 96,214,691 votes, or 58.59 percent of the total valid national votes.
Prabowo and Gibran were subsequently inaugurated as the President and Vice-President of the Republic of Indonesia for the 2024–2029 term during the MPR Plenary Session on 20 October 2024.
Gema Wong Cilik Nusantara holds the view that political differences can still be conveyed through available mechanisms, but it requests that these polemics do not evolve into narratives that could exacerbate social polarization.
The organization also addressed the emergence of various speculations regarding the potential involvement of foreign parties in certain political movements. However, Gema Wong Cilik Nusantara emphasized that it does not treat such allegations as facts unless accompanied by verifiable evidence.
According to the organization, if there is evidence of illegal foreign interference, the matter should be handed over to the authorized state institutions to be investigated transparently in accordance with legal provisions.
Gema Wong Cilik Nusantara also requested that President Prabowo Subianto maintain government stability, national unity, and legal certainty while continuing to respect the constitutional rights of the public.
According to Muh Nur Cahyono, the government's firmness should be directed toward law enforcement and the prevention of provocation, rather than being used to limit legitimate criticism.
On the other hand, the organization reminded that political polemics should not distract the government or political elites from the issues faced by the public.
“The common people need job security, affordable prices for basic necessities, good public services, and a peaceful living environment. Prolonged political polemics must not divert the nation's energy from real work for the welfare of the people,” the Gema Wong Cilik Nusantara statement read.
The organization also invited political elites, community leaders, and various elements of the nation to prioritize dialogue and resolve every difference through the applicable legal mechanisms.
Gema Wong Cilik Nusantara believes that differences in political views are part of democracy, while unity and the interests of the public must remain a shared concern.
