BOJONEGORO, JurnalPost.com – Starting as an ordinary customer, Widji, a resident of Ngasem District, Bojonegoro Regency, East Java, has successfully opened new business opportunities by becoming a BRILink agent. The banking transaction service business she runs not only provides additional income for her family but also helps the community gain closer access to financial services.

Widji's journey to becoming a BRILink agent began when she became familiar with Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) as a place to save money and conduct various financial transactions.

Over time, she learned that BRI has an agency program that allows the public to run a banking transaction service business through BRILink.

Seeing this opportunity, Widji decided to try developing the business in her neighborhood.

"Initially, I was just a regular BRI customer. Then, upon learning about the opportunity to become a BRILink agent, I became interested in trying it out. It turns out this business is quite promising because many people need banking transaction services," Widji explained.

From a Regular Customer to Owning a Business

Widji's decision to become a BRILink agent opened up opportunities for her to earn additional income through financial transaction services.

At first, she only used BRI services for personal needs. However, after understanding the agency business opportunity, Widji saw a community need that could be served.

According to her, not all residents have the time to go to a bank branch or an ATM machine when they need financial services.

This condition became an opportunity for a BRILink agent to provide alternative transactions closer to residential areas.

Through the business she runs, Widji serves various customer needs, ranging from money transfers, cash withdrawals, and cash deposits, to paying various bills.

As time went by, the number of people utilizing these services continued to grow.

Customers who come are not only from her immediate neighborhood but also from other villages around Ngasem District.

For Widji, the growth in the number of customers is an encouragement to continue maintaining the quality of service.

Transactions Increase, Business Provides Additional Income

Community transaction activity is one of the factors supporting the sustainability of Widji's business as a BRILink agent.

Every customer comes with different needs. Some want to withdraw cash, send funds to family, or pay bills.

From these services, Widji earns income through transaction fees charged to customers in accordance with service regulations.

When the number of transactions increases, the potential income from the agency business also increases.

"Praise be to God, from initially just being a customer, I can now run my own business. The turnover is quite good, especially when many people conduct transactions. This has become additional income for my family," she explained.

However, in the banking agency business, there is a difference between the value of transactions served and the income actually received by the agent.

The transaction value reflects the amount of money processed through the service, while business income comes from service fees or commissions according to the applicable mechanism.

Therefore, while increased transaction activity is an opportunity for agents to grow their business, not all the money processed is profit.

For Widji, the presence of BRILink continues to provide economic benefits because it opens up a source of additional income outside of her activities as a bank customer.

Customer Trust is Key to Running the Business

Widji realizes that running a financial service business requires responsibility and public trust.

Unlike trading goods, a BRILink agent deals directly with customer financial transactions, so accuracy is essential in every service.

Errors in entering account numbers or transfer amounts can cause problems for customers.

Therefore, agents need to ensure that transaction data matches the customer's request before the process is carried out.

In addition to accuracy, friendly service and ease of communication are also important factors in retaining customers.

Widji believes that public trust is one of the reasons her business can continue to run.

Some customers choose to use agent services because the location is closer and the transaction process can be assisted directly.

This provides convenience, especially for rural residents who have limited access to bank branches.

BRILink Helps Rural Communities Access Financial Services

The presence of BRILink agents in Ngasem District also provides alternative financial services for the surrounding community.

Residents who need simple transactions do not always have to go to a bank branch that might be quite far from where they live.

Through an agent, a number of banking needs can be carried out more practically.

This convenience is important for people who have busy work schedules or residents who are not yet accustomed to using digital banking services.

In addition to supporting transaction convenience, the existence of BRILink agents is also part of expanding access to financial services for the community.

For Widji, the benefits of the business she runs are not only measured by the income earned but also by the number of people who feel helped.

She hopes her business will continue to grow as the community's need for banking transaction services increases.

"My hope is that this business continues to grow and more people are helped. I am also grateful because BRI provides opportunities for customers to develop businesses through BRILink," she concluded.

Widji's story shows that the public's relationship with banking services is not always limited to saving or conducting transactions.

Through agency opportunities like BRILink, a customer can develop economic activities while providing services needed by the community in their environment.

From a BRI customer to a financial service business operator in Ngasem, Bojonegoro, Widji's journey is a reflection of how business opportunities can grow from the simple daily needs of the community.
