BANTUL, JurnalPost.com – Retired Police Commissioner (AKP) Sunaryo was officially inaugurated as the Village Head of Argorejo, Sedayu District, Bantul Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta, on Thursday (5/11/2026). The former Head of the Traffic Unit (Kanit Lantas) at the Sedayu Police Station now assumes new responsibilities in leading the village government and serving the community.
The inauguration, which took place during a simultaneous swearing-in ceremony for village heads in Bantul Regency, marks the beginning of Sunaryo's journey in local government after previously serving in the Indonesian National Police.
For the people of Argorejo, this new leadership brings hopes for improved public services, infrastructure development, economic empowerment, and the strengthening of social and community life.

From Sedayu Police Traffic Chief to Argorejo Village Head

Secures 3,247 Votes in the 2026 Argorejo Village Head Election
Sunaryo's election as the Village Head of Argorejo is the result of a democratic process through the simultaneous Village Head Election (Pilur) of Bantul Regency 2026.
Based on the election results recapitulation, Sunaryo obtained 3,247 votes, or approximately 47.1 percent of the total valid votes.
This result has led him to lead Argorejo Village, bringing with it the responsibility to execute various programs presented during the election process.
After the election phase concluded, the next challenge is to rebuild unity among all community members, including those who previously supported other candidates.
As village head, Sunaryo is expected to provide fair services without discriminating based on the background or political choices of the residents.
Unity and citizen participation are essential for ensuring that development initiatives can proceed with support from all parties.
Promoting a Vision of an Orderly, Progressive, Cultured, and Competitive Argorejo
In carrying out his leadership, Sunaryo promotes a vision of creating an Argorejo community that is orderly, progressive, cultured, harmonious, and competitive, while prioritizing moral and religious values.

The health and food security sectors are also receiving attention in the planned development direction.
Improving the quality of health services is expected to support community welfare, while strengthening food security is aimed at maintaining the sustainable availability of food supplies.

Sunaryo also places the strengthening of community institutions and citizen participation as a vital part of implementing government programs.
