TANGERANG, JurnalPost.com — The Student Creativity Program (PKM) team from Universitas Pamulang Serang Campus provided artificial intelligence (AI) literacy education to students at SMK YPI Raudatul Falah on Thursday (17/9/2026). The activity was designed to help the younger generation understand how to utilize AI wisely, creatively, and responsibly amidst the rapid development of digital technology.

This educational program was led by Dina Gustinah from the Information Systems Study Program, with team members Annisa Riski, Rijal Muhammad Jiwa, Laila Fauziyah, Dimas Eka Fuji Riady, Wina Nurainah, and Wulan Nurcahyani. The implementation of the activity was supervised by Vira Fitriza Fadli, S.Kom., M.Eng., as the faculty advisor.

The activity was motivated by the rapid development of AI technology, which has not been fully balanced with digital literacy among students. The increasing ease of using AI necessitates the ability to understand its mechanics, benefits, limitations, and usage ethics.

The PKM team observed that some students still use AI as an instant tool to complete assignments without deeply understanding the information generated or the risks associated with its use.

Therefore, through this activity, the students encouraged their peers to view AI as a supporting tool or a study companion, rather than a replacement for creativity or critical thinking skills.

Proper utilization of AI is considered helpful for students to broaden their knowledge, seek inspiration, and develop creativity. However, students must still possess the ability to analyze, verify, and develop the information obtained from such technology.

During the event, several key topics were presented to the participants, ranging from the basic definition of artificial intelligence and its benefits in life and learning, to the ethics and boundaries of its use.

In addition to explaining the benefits of the technology, the PKM team also provided insights into several risks that can arise when AI is used irresponsibly, such as plagiarism, technological dependency, and the spread of misinformation or hoaxes.

“We see that students need to be guided so they do not just become consumers of technology, but also understand the essence of AI and use it wisely. This is one of the goals of this PKM program,” said Project Lead Dina Gustinah.

To make relatively complex material easier to understand, the student team packaged the AI literacy lessons through educational digital content that was interactive and relatable to the students' daily lives.

During the session, students received an explanation of fundamental AI concepts and watched interactive educational videos produced by the student team.

The activity did not focus solely on theory. Students were also invited to engage in hands-on practice through training on building simple applications using the AppSheet platform.

The training provided students with experience in understanding the process of technology-based application development in a simple way. Participants were able to try the application creation stages directly with guidance from the PKM team.

The students' enthusiasm was evident through their active involvement during the practice session. Teachers who attended the activity also gave positive feedback on the practice-based learning approach.

Through this program, the PKM team from Universitas Pamulang Serang Campus hopes that the AI literacy based on educational digital content and the AppSheet skills introduced can continue to be developed by the students.

Understanding AI is expected to go beyond the ability to use technology, encompassing critical thinking skills, maintaining academic ethics, and using technology productively and responsibly.

These skills are considered increasingly important to prepare the younger generation to face the development of the digital world while supporting the emergence of an Indonesian generation that is adaptive, creative, and ready to face the challenges toward Indonesia Emas.
