CEPU, JurnalPost.com — The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (KESDM) continues to demonstrate its commitment to improving the health and quality of life of its female employees through a Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination program. The event was held at the Human Resources Development Center for Oil and Gas (PPSDM Migas) in Cepu on Wednesday (21/10/2026).
This vaccination program is part of the series of events commemorating the 81 Mining and Energy Anniversary (HUT PE) and serves as a preventive measure to increase awareness regarding the importance of cervical cancer prevention.
The event was officially opened by the Head of the Geological Agency of KESDM, Lana Saria, virtually via Zoom Meeting. The event was also attended by administrative officials within the KESDM Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDM) and the vaccination participants.
This HPV vaccination drive is aimed at female employees of PPSDM Migas and the PEM Akamigas Polytechnic as a form of support for women's health within the energy sector workplace.
In her remarks, Lana Saria explained that this activity is part of a social service program initiated by the Advisor to the KESDM Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP), Sri Suparni Bahlil.
"The HPV Vaccination activity in commemoration of the 81 Mining and Energy Anniversary was carried out at the initiative of the Advisor to the KESDM Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP), Mrs. Sri Suparni Bahlil, as one of the social service activities of DWP PPSDM Migas," said Lana Saria.
According to her, the program is not only a social activity but also reflects a concern for disease prevention efforts and the improvement of the quality of life for employees, especially women.
"This activity is a manifestation of our concern for health, disease prevention, and the improvement of quality of life, especially for female employees who are vulnerable to cervical cancer. This is a form of full support from the KESDM DWP Advisor for all female employees under the auspices of KESDM," she continued.
HPV Vaccination Held in Four Cities
The implementation of the HPV vaccination in the context of the 81 Mining and Energy Anniversary is scheduled to take place in rotation across four KESDM work regions.
The series of activities began in Jakarta on 19 October 2026, followed by Bandung on 20 October, then Cepu on 21 October, and is scheduled to conclude in Yogyakarta on 22 October 2026.
In total, the vaccination program across the four locations recorded 785 registrants. Meanwhile, specifically for the implementation in Cepu involving PPSDM Migas and PEM Akamigas, 87 participants registered to receive the vaccine.
The number of registrants demonstrates the attention female employees pay to the importance of maintaining health through disease prevention measures.
The HPV vaccine itself is a preventive measure against Human Papillomavirus infection, particularly specific types of HPV that can cause cervical cancer.
Through this activity, KESDM hopes that more female employees will understand the importance of health protection from an early age, including through vaccination and regular health screenings.
Increasing Health Awareness Among Female Employees
Lana Saria considers the high enthusiasm of the participants a positive development in building awareness regarding cervical cancer prevention within the KESDM environment.
According to her, employee health is a crucial factor in supporting comfort, well-being, and work productivity.
"The high enthusiasm of the registrants is a positive indication of the importance of maintaining health, especially in preventing cervical cancer caused by the HPV virus. This also serves as an excellent momentum for cervical cancer prevention, which can improve work productivity for KESDM female employees," she stated.
On that occasion, Lana Saria also expressed her appreciation to all parties who supported the implementation of the vaccination activity.
"We also extend our highest appreciation to DWP KESDM, Bio Farma, the medical personnel, and all participants who took part," she concluded.
The implementation of the HPV vaccination at PPSDM Migas is expected to be a sustainable effort in building a healthy lifestyle culture in the workplace.
In addition to increasing awareness of the importance of cervical cancer prevention, this program also reflects KESDM's commitment to providing attention to the health and well-being of human resources in the energy sector.
