KUALA LUMPUR, JurnalPost.com — The Hajj Financial Management Agency (BPKH), in collaboration with PT Bank Muamalat Indonesia Tbk, held the Kuala Lumpur Hajj Lifestyle Festival 2026 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from October 24–25, 2026. This event served as an educational platform for Indonesian citizens residing in Malaysia to begin planning their Hajj pilgrimage early.
Through this festival, BPKH and Bank Muamalat aimed to improve Hajj financial literacy, particularly among the Indonesian diaspora. Financial preparation is considered a critical aspect that individuals must address before registering as prospective Hajj pilgrims.
Beyond providing information on Hajj and Umrah, the festival featured a variety of activities, ranging from exhibitions and sports tournaments to community gatherings (community gathering) and inspirational talk shows.
The series of events was designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of Hajj preparation, covering financial, health, and spiritual readiness.
The festival targeted various segments of the Indonesian community in Malaysia, including migrant workers, students, expatriates, and Indonesian organizations based in Kuala Lumpur and its surrounding areas.
Indonesian Diaspora Must Understand Hajj Registration Mechanisms
For Indonesian citizens living in Malaysia, information regarding Hajj registration procedures is vital. They must follow the registration mechanism under the Indonesian government's Hajj quota and cannot utilize the Malaysian government's Hajj quota as Indonesian citizens.
BPKH Executive Board member Harry Alexander emphasized that preparations for the Holy Land should be made well before one intends to perform the Hajj.
According to him, careful planning helps individuals understand cost requirements, registration stages, and the various prerequisites that must be met.
“BPKH wants to encourage the Indonesian diaspora not to delay their Hajj preparations. Sound financial planning, understanding registration mechanisms, and physical and spiritual readiness are essential parts of the journey to the Baitullah. Through the Kuala Lumpur Hajj Lifestyle Festival 2026, we want to provide education and Hajj service information that is more accessible to the needs of the Indonesian community in Malaysia,” said Harry Alexander.

He also noted that the use of digital technology can help the public access Hajj service information more easily, including for Indonesian citizens residing abroad.
Introducing BPKH Apps and Hajj Savings Services
During the event, BPKH also introduced the BPKH Apps, a digital platform that provides access to information regarding Hajj pilgrimage management.
Through the available features, users can obtain information on estimated Hajj departure times and the benefit values of Hajj funds.
In addition to the introduction of digital services, visitors received education on opening Hajj savings accounts through Bank Muamalat. This service was introduced as an option to help individuals prepare for Hajj travel costs in stages.
The festival also involved ESQ Tours & Travel and Jejak Imani Travel, which provided information on special Hajj service options for interested individuals.
The presence of various service providers in one event is expected to make it easier for the Indonesian diaspora to obtain information before making choices that suit their individual needs and financial capabilities.
More than 400 Participants Attend the Festival
The Kuala Lumpur Hajj Lifestyle Festival 2026 received a positive response from the Indonesian community in Malaysia. Over the two-day event, more than 400 participants attended.
Visitors not only participated in the festival activities but also had the opportunity to learn about Islamic banking services, Hajj and Umrah savings products, and activate the BPKH Apps.
The event, which involved several partners from Indonesia and Malaysia, also served as a meeting space for the diaspora community to expand their networks and share information regarding preparations for the journey to the Holy Land.
Through this collaboration, BPKH and Bank Muamalat hope that more Indonesians abroad will have an adequate understanding of Hajj financial planning.
Ongoing education is also expected to encourage the Indonesian diaspora to take preparatory steps earlier, ensuring that the plan to perform the Hajj becomes more than just a desire, but a reality achieved through structured planning tailored to their capabilities.
