QRIS Payment at Angkringan Telu Kanca

BOJONEGORO, JurnalPost.com – Enjoying a cup of coffee, nasi kucing, and various fritters at an angkringan (street food stall) is now more practical. Customers no longer need to carry cash, as a number of vendors have begun providing digital payment services via the Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS).

This shift in transaction methods is being experienced by Narto, an angkringan vendor in Bojonegoro, East Java. The presence of BRI QRIS at his stall provides convenience for customers who wish to pay for their food and drinks without using cash.

For Narto, providing a digital payment method is a way to adapt his service to customer habits. Not all customers carry cash, especially those who are accustomed to using banking applications for their daily needs.

"If a customer doesn't have cash, they can pay directly using QRIS. Just scan the barcode, and the payment is complete. It's much more practical," Narto explained.

According to him, payments via QRIS also help resolve a common issue faced by vendors: the lack of small change for customers.

With the digital payment system, customers can pay the exact amount due without needing to prepare exact change. Meanwhile, vendors can still accept cash payments from customers who prefer using conventional methods.

BRI QRIS Provides Payment Options for Angkringan Customers

Angkringans have long been known as simple eateries close to the community. Beyond offering affordable food, they serve as gathering spaces for workers, students, and local residents.

Amidst the public's growing familiarity with digital financial services, the presence of QRIS offers an additional payment option without altering the simple character of the angkringan business.

Narto admitted that he has not experienced any significant difficulties in serving customers who use QRIS. Customers simply scan the payment code provided, enter the transaction amount if necessary, and complete the payment through their chosen application.

For him, this convenience is a value-add in providing service to his customers.

The use of QRIS also allows vendors to serve customers with diverse payment habits. Those who carry cash can still pay as usual, while customers who rely on digital transactions have another option.

Customers Find Paying with BRImo More Practical

The convenience of digital payments at Narto's stall is also felt by Sulaiman, a customer who uses the BRImo application from Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI).

Sulaiman noted that the presence of QRIS at a simple eatery is very helpful, especially when he is not carrying cash.

According to him, the payment process via BRImo is quite easy. After opening the application, users can select the QRIS feature, scan the code provided by the vendor, and confirm the transaction amount before finalizing the payment.

"When I'm eating at an angkringan and don't have cash, I just open BRImo, scan the QRIS, and pay. There's no need to look for an ATM or worry about having exact change," said Sulaiman.

He mentioned that the use of BRImo is not limited to paying for food and drinks. He also utilizes the application to support various daily financial transaction needs.

For Sulaiman, the presence of digital payments at food stalls is an example of how financial technology development is becoming increasingly integrated into daily life.

Payments using smartphones are no longer found only in shopping centers, modern cafes, or large restaurants. Small vendors like angkringan owners are also starting to utilize the same facilities to serve their consumers.

Although it offers convenience, Sulaiman reminded users of the importance of being careful before completing digital transactions.

Users need to check the merchant name that appears on the application and ensure the payment amount matches the total due. This simple step can help reduce the risk of transaction errors.

"The use of QRIS at food stalls, including angkringans, shows that the digitalization of transactions is not only happening in shopping centers or large restaurants. Small business owners can also utilize digital payment systems to provide convenience to customers," he added.

Payment Digitalization Reaches Small Businesses

The experiences of Narto and Sulaiman demonstrate how digital payment services are becoming part of the community's economic activities, including in small-scale culinary businesses.

For vendors, QRIS can be a more flexible alternative for receiving payments. For customers, the facility provides an option when they are not carrying cash.

The implementation of QRIS also shows that using payment technology does not always require major changes to business operations. Vendors continue their buying and selling activities as usual, simply adding a payment method that can be adjusted to customer needs.

However, the smoothness of digital transactions still depends on several factors, such as internet connection, the availability of banking services, and user diligence when making payments.

Therefore, the option of cash payment still plays an important role, especially when network issues occur or customers are not yet accustomed to using digital services.

In Bojonegoro, the use of BRI QRIS by angkringan vendors like Narto is one illustration of changing transaction habits at the micro-business level.

Through BRI QRIS and the BRImo application, vendors and buyers have more options in completing daily transactions.

Now, to enjoy food and drinks at an angkringan, customers do not always have to look for small change or wait for it. By simply utilizing the digital payment feature on their smartphones, transactions can be completed more practically.
