In her remarks, Barru Regent Andi Ina Kartika Sari extended her congratulations to the entire DPD KKS Barru board for the 2026–2031 term.

She expressed her hope that the new leadership would not only carry out ceremonial activities but also play a tangible role in social life and regional development.

According to Andi Ina, the presence of KKS in Barru Regency is expected to contribute to regional development through the synergy and involvement of the Soppeng community, who have long been an integral part of life in Barru.

The Regent also expressed her appreciation for the philosophy of pagu juban , which is interpreted as a connection of hearts. This value is considered essential to maintain as a foundation for building togetherness, mutual assistance, and strengthening brotherhood.

“Through this connection of hearts, we can listen to one another, support each other, and help when our brothers and sisters are in need,” said Andi Ina.

She also encouraged all members of the Soppeng community residing in Barru Regency not to view themselves as a small group, but rather as an important part of the region's development.

“People from Soppeng should not feel small in Barru Regency; they should feel like significant contributors. The presence of KKS must serve as a platform to work together and provide meaningful value to Barru Regency,” she emphasized.

Andi Ina added that Barru and Soppeng Regencies share deep historical, social, and familial ties. This closeness serves as a vital asset to continue strengthening collaboration and relations between the two regions.

She then invited the DPD KKS Barru to support the Barru Regency Government's vision of creating a region that is fair, sustainably advanced, and prosperous.

“Whether you are from Soppeng or Barru, that is my hope,” she concluded.

Meanwhile, Soppeng Vice Regent Ir. Selle KS Dalle expressed his pride in the close relationship between the Soppeng and Barru Regency Governments.

According to him, the presence of leaders from both regions at the event reflects the strong familial bond between the people of Soppeng and Barru.

“The relationship between Soppeng and Barru cannot be separated. We strengthen each other and synergize for the progress of our people and our regions,” he said.

He expressed his hope that KKS would continue to play a strategic role and provide tangible contributions to the progress of the Barru community.

The Soppeng Regency Government, he continued, is also open to various forms of collaboration and encourages the empowerment of human resources from Soppeng residing in Barru according to their capacity and competence.

On the same occasion, Daily Chairman of the DPD KKS Central Board Dr. H. Andi Jaya Sose, S.E., M.B.A., emphasized the importance of the role of migrant communities in maintaining cultural values while participating in regional development.

According to him, communities living away from their hometowns have a responsibility to preserve customs, noble values, and the exemplary traits of their ancestors so they can be passed down to the next generation.

“The duty of our community in the diaspora is none other than a historical duty and the cultivation of values,” he said.

He expressed his hope that the presence of KKS in Barru Regency would continue to foster togetherness, strengthen synergy with the government and the community, and provide real contributions to regional development.

The core board members of DPD KKS Barru for the 2026–2031 term who were inaugurated are Drs. Andi Djalil Mappiare as Chairman, Hj. Hilmanida, S.STP., M.Si. as Secretary, and Hj. Herlina Mukhtar as Treasurer.
