JurnalPost.com — The Indonesian music industry has welcomed a fresh new sound. Bobsman X, a duo featuring Boby Geraldi and Wawan Taroek, has arrived with a catchy musical style, straightforward lyrics that resonate with daily life, and arrangements that are easy for everyone to enjoy.

The event took place at Kopi Nyai in the Radio Dalam area of South Jakarta and served as a milestone leading up to the release of their debut Extended Play (EP) titled Cosmopolutan.

During the event, Bobsman X also introduced their latest single, “Quarter Life Miris”.

The title Cosmopolutan is a play on the words “cosmopolitan” and “pollutant.” Through this concept, Bobsman X aims to capture the dynamics, ironies, and realities of modern urban life.

Their musical approach remains relaxed, honest, and relatable. This vibe is complemented by the laid-back guitar work that has become a signature of the Bobsman X sound.

Showcase as a Space for Interaction

Bobsman X guitarist Wawan Taroek stated that the showcase was not just a stage to introduce their work, but also a space for interaction between musicians, listeners, and industry professionals.

“The ‘Road to EP Cosmopolutan’ showcase is not just a typical music performance, but an organic space for interaction between us, our work, and our fellow musicians and industry peers,” Wawan said.

Through this intimate format, Bobsman X hopes to provide an experience that allows them to communicate more closely with their audience.

The showcase also served as an opportunity for the duo to introduce the musical direction they will take in their EP Cosmopolutan.

“Quarter Life Miris” Addresses Urban Generation Realities

Meanwhile, Bobsman X vocalist Boby Geraldi explained that the single “Quarter Life Miris” carries a message that resonates with the urban generation.

Quarter Life Miris

The song highlights the situation of being caught between ambition, life pressures, burnout, and the constant demands to keep moving forward.

“Through ‘Quarter Life Miris,’ we want to embrace the reality of the urban generation, who often find themselves at a crossroads between ambition and burnout, while still motivating them to keep their spirits up,” said Boby.

This theme is packaged with a light and accessible musical approach, ensuring the song's message is felt without being overly heavy.

Bobsman X aims to create music that serves not only as entertainment but also as a companion for listeners facing the daily challenges of life.

Heading Toward the Release of the “Cosmopolutan” EP

The “Road to EP Cosmopolutan” showcase was attended by several senior practitioners in the Indonesian music industry, including Bongky Marcel of BIP, Opet Alatas, known as a former member of Gigi, and producer Ully Dalimunthe.

Representatives from Aquarius Musikindo, Bobsman X’s digital distribution partner, were also present at the event.

The presence of these industry figures is an important part of Bobsman X’s initial steps in introducing their work to a wider audience.

This showcase serves as a milestone leading to the full launch of the EP Cosmopolutan on various digital music platforms.

Through the single “Quarter Life Miris” and the upcoming EP, Bobsman X is opening a new chapter in their musical journey, sharing stories about urban life, the anxieties of the younger generation, and the various realities often encountered in modern city living.
