JAKARTA, JurnalPost.com — Life is full of surprises. One day, a person can be at the peak of success, only to face a harsh reality the next. This is the experience of Derra Pratama, a man from Karawang who once suffered a bankruptcy in his business ventures.

However, that failure was not the end of Derra's journey. After navigating a difficult period, the man born on 23 January 1992 is now turning a new page by pursuing the world of TikTok Affiliate.

Through his TikTok account @sobatgaptek, Derra has chosen to leverage technological advancements as a path to rebuild his income stream.

His journey serves as a story of how one strives to rise again after experiencing failure in the business world.

Experiencing the Bitterness of Bankruptcy

Before entering the world of TikTok Affiliate, Derra was known to have run a business. Unfortunately, that venture did not go as expected, ultimately leading to bankruptcy.

For some, business failure can be a difficult experience to forget, especially when a business that has been built must close and one is faced with the reality of starting over from scratch.

Derra chose to look for other opportunities. He did not want his past experiences to hinder his steps toward becoming productive again.

"When talking about bankruptcy, it is certainly not an easy experience. There are many things I had to learn from that failure. But I thought, if I keep getting stuck in that situation, I will never be able to move forward. So I chose to try again, even if I had to start from zero."

This experience became part of the process of changing his career path. Derra began to see that business opportunities do not only come from conventional businesses, but also through the development of the digital economy.

Pivoting to TikTok Affiliate

Armed with a bachelor's degree in computer science, Derra has a natural affinity for the world of technology. This knowledge became one of his assets in understanding the opportunities arising from the growth of social media.

He then chose TikTok Affiliate as the activity he now pursues.

Unlike conventional businesses that often require a physical location and various operational costs, the affiliate program allows creators to promote products through digital content.

Creators have the potential to earn commissions when transactions occur that meet the program's requirements.

For Derra, this business model is an alternative to rebuilding his economic activity independently.

"At first, I saw social media not just as a place for people to find entertainment. It turns out there are opportunities to earn income as well. Because I have a background in computer science, I was interested in learning how this affiliate system works. From there, I started trying and kept learning."

Through the @sobatgaptek account, Derra is now dedicated to his activities as an affiliate creator.

This change in profession shows that a person's journey does not always follow a straight line according to their educational background or previous work experience.

Being a TikTok Affiliate Is Not as Easy as It Looks

Although it is becoming increasingly popular, being a TikTok Affiliate does not mean one can immediately earn a large income.

Competition in the digital content industry is quite tight. Creators must understand audience characteristics, choose relevant products, and be able to convey information in an engaging way.

In addition, changing content trends and platform policies require creators to constantly adapt.

Affiliate activity requires consistency in creating content and building trust with potential buyers.

The income received can also vary, depending on content performance, transactions that occur, and the commission rate for each product.

Therefore, opportunities in this industry still need to be pursued with a mature strategy and understanding.

For Derra, the experience of business failure serves as a reminder that every job has its own risks and challenges.

Refusing to Stay Down, Derra Has New Hope

After facing a bitter experience in the business world, Derra is now undergoing a different chapter in his professional journey.

He has chosen to utilize his skills and technological knowledge to adapt to changing times.

Pursuing TikTok Affiliate is one of the steps he has taken to rebuild his income source.

"I learned that failure does not mean everything is over. The important thing is that we still have the will to rise and try new opportunities. I am also still learning in this TikTok Affiliate space. The hope, of course, is to grow and become a better source of income in the future."

(Draft quote from Derra Pratama — awaiting editorial confirmation and subject approval.)

Derra's journey also illustrates the increasingly open job opportunities amidst the growth of the digital economy.

Currently, productive activities do not always have to be carried out through physical stores or offices. Digital devices and internet networks allow people to try various forms of new work.

However, these opportunities still require skills, creativity, and the ability to adapt.

For Derra Pratama, the journey from bankruptcy to the world of TikTok Affiliate is part of his effort to rebuild his professional activity.

Now, through the @sobatgaptek account, he is trying to move forward by utilizing the opportunities offered by technological developments.

His story shows that failure in the business world does not always have to be the end of a journey. Sometimes, that experience actually opens up opportunities to discover fields of work that were previously never thought of.
