BOJONEGORO, JurnalPost.com – The advancement of digital banking services has made financial transactions increasingly convenient for the public. However, not everyone is accustomed to utilizing this technology, particularly elderly citizens who often find it difficult to navigate mobile bankingapplications.

Amidst this reality, the presence of BRILink agents serves as a vital alternative for financial services, allowing people to conduct transactions without needing to operate banking applications independently.

In Bojonegoro, a BRILink agent named Masya provides services to local residents, including seniors who require assistance with various financial transactions.

Through BRILink agents, the public can perform cash withdrawals, cash deposits, money transfers, and pay for various daily necessities without needing to visit a bank branch office.

Assisting Seniors Struggling with Mobile Banking

Masya revealed that a portion of the customers visiting her business are elderly individuals who are not familiar with using banking services via mobile phones.

According to her, the challenges faced by these customers are diverse. Some do not understand how to open banking applications, enter destination account numbers, or verify the amount of money they intend to transfer.

"Some elderly people are not yet familiar with using mobile banking. Therefore, they come here to ask for help with their transactions. We assist them according to their needs," Masya explained.

This situation highlights that the progress of banking technology must still be balanced with the availability of services that are easily accessible to all segments of society.

For those accustomed to digital services, financial transactions might be completed in just a few minutes via a smartphone. However, for some seniors, the same process can be a significant challenge.

The presence of BRILink agents provides them with an option to continue accessing banking services with the help of staff who provide direct, in-person assistance.

Patience as a Key Element of Service

In running her business, Masya does not merely process transactions for customers. She also strives to provide explanations so that customers understand the process and the purpose of the transactions being conducted.

According to her, serving elderly customers requires patience because not all customers are familiar with banking terminology or service procedures.

"Sometimes I have to explain things slowly so they understand. The most important thing is that the customer feels helped and knows what transaction is being performed," she clarified.

The elderly customers who visit generally have different needs. Some want to withdraw money sent by family members, while others require help transferring funds or making payments.

Masya strives to provide service using simple language so that customers can more easily understand every stage of the transaction.

This approach is crucial because financial services are not only about the speed of the transaction but also about the comfort and understanding of the customer.

With direct service, customers can ask about things they do not understand before the transaction is processed.

An Alternative Financial Service for Village Residents

In addition to helping those who are not accustomed to using digital technology, BRILink agents also provide convenience for residents who have limited access to bank offices.

For some village residents, traveling to a bank office requires time and transportation costs. This condition can be a hurdle, especially when the transactions being performed are relatively simple.

The presence of BRILink agents within residential neighborhoods allows the public to obtain financial services closer to their homes.

Residents do not have to travel far just to withdraw money, send funds to family, or complete certain payments.

This convenience is also felt by the elderly, who require guidance when conducting transactions.

On the other hand, the presence of BRILink agents is part of an effort to expand access to financial services through the bank's agency network.

Through this system, the public can obtain a number of banking services with the help of agents, according to the type of transaction and applicable regulations.

Creating Business Opportunities While Helping the Community

For Masya, running a business as a BRILink agent not only provides an opportunity to earn income but also serves as a way to assist the needs of the community in her surrounding area.

The daily transaction activity performed by customers shows that direct financial services still have a place amidst the development of digital banking technology.

This need comes primarily from people who desire a more practical transaction process with the help of an agent.

Nevertheless, every transaction must still prioritize security. Customers should check the nominal amount, the destination account number, service fees, and transaction receipts to ensure all information is correct.

Personal information such as PINs, passwords, and OTP codes must also be kept confidential.

Masya hopes that the presence of BRILink agents will become more widely known and can provide benefits to more people, especially the elderly.

"My hope is that the community will be increasingly helped. Especially for the elderly who cannot use applications on their phones, they can still conduct transactions by coming to an agent," she concluded.

The presence of BRILink agents in Bojonegoro demonstrates that access to financial services does not always have to depend on one's ability to use digital technology.

For some members of the public, particularly seniors, direct service remains an essential need. BRILink agents do not just function as a place for transactions, but also serve as a bridge between banking services and the community that requires easy access to finance.
