The event featured training on utilizing Canva to enhance teachers' digital creativity in creating learning media.

DENPASAR, JURNALPOST – The Management Study Program at the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) of Universitas Mahasaraswati (Unmas) Denpasar held a community service program at SD Negeri 2 Sumerta, Denpasar. One of the key agendas was training on the use of the Canva application to enhance the digital creativity of teachers in creating learning media.

The training is part of the university's efforts to encourage the improvement of teachers' skills so they can better adapt to the development of digital technology. The use of technology is considered helpful for educators in compiling learning materials that are more engaging, communicative, and easily understood by students.

The activity was motivated by the limited use of digital design applications in supporting the preparation of learning media. Canva was introduced as a platform that teachers can use to create various visual materials practically.

The community service activity was led by the Head of the Management Study Program at FEB Unmas Denpasar, Dr. Gde Bayu Surya Parwita, SE., MM., involving several lecturers from the Faculty of Economics and Business as well as students from the Management Study Program.

Three teachers from SD Negeri 2 Sumerta participated in the training. During the event, participants received direct guidance from four lecturers and three students from Universitas Mahasaraswati Denpasar.

In the training session, the teachers were first introduced to Canva and the various basic features available within it. After receiving the explanation, participants were guided to utilize these features to compile presentation materials or PowerPoints that can be used when teaching in class.

The training did not only consist of theoretical material presentation. Participants also had the opportunity to directly practice the process of creating presentation designs using Canva.

Through this practice-based approach, teachers are expected to more easily understand the function of each feature while being able to produce presentation media that suits their respective learning needs.

Enthusiasm was evident throughout the activity. The teachers followed every stage of the training seriously, from the introduction of the application to the practice of compiling presentation materials.

The Canva training is expected to broaden the horizons and improve the digital skills of the teachers at SD Negeri 2 Sumerta. These skills can subsequently be applied to produce more creative visual communication media to support teaching and learning activities.

The use of visual design can also be a way for teachers to deliver material in a more varied manner, so that the learning process does not rely solely on conventional delivery methods.

In addition to providing benefits to educators, this community service activity also serves as a learning space for students of the Management Study Program at FEB Unmas Denpasar who were directly involved in the mentoring process.

Interaction with the teachers provided students with the opportunity to develop communication skills, teamwork, and experience in applying the knowledge gained during their studies.

Student involvement in community activities is also part of the process of building social and professional skills that can support their readiness when entering the workforce or community life.

Through the implementation of this activity, the Management Study Program at FEB Unmas Denpasar also carries out one of the elements of the Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi (Three Pillars of Higher Education), specifically in the field of community service.

This activity also serves as a form of contribution from the university in supporting the improvement of human resource capacity in the education sector, especially in facing technological developments and the increasingly important need for digital skills in the learning process.
