NORTH SUMATRA, JurnalPost.com — Baitul Maal Hidayatullah (BMH) North Sumatra has once again demonstrated its commitment to supporting preachers serving in remote areas. Through its 'Dai Tangguh' (Resilient Preacher) program, the zakat institution distributed essential food packages to two preachers serving in Karo Regency and Dairi Regency, North Sumatra.
The aid was provided to Ustaz Suhendri, who conducts outreach in the Tanah Karo region, and Ustaz Hamid Aceh, who serves in Dairi Regency. Both were the beneficiaries of this aid distribution initiative led by BMH North Sumatra.
The aid was presented directly by the Head of the Program and Empowerment Division of BMH North Sumatra, M. Arif Firdaus.
This program is part of BMH's ongoing efforts to support religious leaders who provide spiritual guidance to communities, particularly in areas far from urban centers.
Beyond meeting basic needs, the distribution of these food packages is intended to provide moral support, encouraging the preachers to remain dedicated to their service to the community.
Essential Food Aid for Preachers in Remote Areas
Preachers in remote regions play a vital role in community life. In addition to sharing religious teachings, they are often involved in education, character building, and strengthening social values within their respective areas.
However, conducting outreach in areas far from city centers is not without its challenges. Geographical conditions, travel distances, and daily living costs are key factors that must be considered to ensure the sustainability of their work.
Through the Dai Tangguh program, BMH strives to provide tangible support to these preachers so they can continue their mission.

Essential food packages were selected to help meet the daily needs of the beneficiaries.
In this distribution, support was directed toward two preachers serving in different regions: Tanah Karo and Dairi.
Although the aid consists of basic necessities, it carries significant meaning as a gesture of care and appreciation for the preachers who have been serving the community.
BMH hopes that such assistance will serve as encouragement for the beneficiaries while strengthening the bond between the social institution, donors, and the communities in need.
Preachers in Tanah Karo and Dairi Express Gratitude
The aid provided by BMH North Sumatra was warmly received by both beneficiaries.
Ustaz Suhendri and Ustaz Hamid Aceh expressed their gratitude to BMH and the donors who have shown concern for their needs.
Both also offered prayers that all parties involved in the distribution would be granted health, blessings, and rewards for their kindness.
These expressions of gratitude reflect the appreciation for the support given to preachers serving in the remote regions of North Sumatra.
Support from the public through zakat, infaq, and sadaqah management institutions is a form of social participation that helps sustain various religious guidance activities.
For the preachers, this attention is not just about material aid; it serves as a reminder that their service is supported by the wider community.
Caring for preachers in remote areas is also a way to ensure the continuity of education and religious guidance within the community.
BMH Promotes Education and Student Development
M. Arif Firdaus, Head of the Program and Empowerment Division of BMH North Sumatra, hopes that this aid will not only benefit the preachers but also have a positive impact on education and youth development.
Arif emphasized the importance of motivating students to continue their studies and prepare themselves to become knowledgeable individuals with strong character.
“We hope this aid provides motivation to the students here, encouraging them to study harder to become intelligent children and future leaders with great spirits,” said Arif.
This hope reflects the idea that supporting preachers is intrinsically linked to strengthening the educational activities conducted within the community.
Preachers have the opportunity to contribute to shaping the character of the younger generation through religious instruction, moral values, and social guidance.
By supporting the basic needs of these preachers, it is hoped they can focus more effectively on their roles.
Attention to education and character building is a crucial aspect of human resource development, including for communities in remote areas.
Therefore, the involvement of various parties in supporting outreach and education is considered vital for the sustainability of community development.
Dai Tangguh Program as a Form of Care for Remote Communities
The aid distribution to Ustaz Suhendri and Ustaz Hamid Aceh is a manifestation of the social programs run by BMH North Sumatra.
Through this activity, BMH strives to channel the generosity of donors to beneficiaries who are dedicated to serving the community.
The Dai Tangguh program also demonstrates how social support can be directed toward groups that play a key role in the religious and educational life of the community.
The presence of preachers in remote areas is part of an effort to expand access to religious guidance while strengthening values of togetherness and social care.
The aid provided is expected to alleviate some of the beneficiaries' needs, allowing their outreach activities to continue effectively.
Furthermore, the program serves as a medium for the public to contribute through zakat, infaq, and sadaqah managed by social institutions.
The involvement of donors in humanitarian activities shows that caring for education and community development is not solely the government's responsibility but requires the participation of all elements of society.
BMH North Sumatra hopes that the support for these preachers will provide sustainable benefits for both the recipients and the communities where they serve.
The distribution of food packages to these two preachers in Karo and Dairi serves as a reminder of the importance of paying attention to those serving in remote areas.
Through this support, it is hoped that religious outreach, education, and youth development will continue to thrive and contribute positively to society.
