BOJONEGORO, JurnalPost.com – The digitization of traditional markets through the New Pasar.id platform is seen as opening new opportunities for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Bojonegoro Regency. The presence of this platform, which connects traders and buyers online, is expected to expand the marketing reach of local products without relying solely on direct sales at market stalls.
An MSME snack producer from Kalitidu District, Susi Liniswati, believes that the existence of digital platforms like New Pasar.id can be a promising alternative for small businesses.
According to her, many MSMEs have historically relied on sales from local customers or direct orders.
“If MSME products can enter digital platforms like New Pasar.id, the market opportunity is certainly wider. Buyers do not have to come directly to the shop or market, but can view products through the application. This is an opportunity for small businesses to be known by more consumers,” said Susi, Thursday (10/1/2026).
The owner of the peanut brittle business added that digitization also encourages business owners to be more disciplined in managing products, from packaging to stock availability.
In addition, MSMEs are challenged to continuously improve product quality to compete in a more open digital market.
A similar opinion was expressed by Mafianto, a grocery trader at Banjarejo Market, Bojonegoro. According to him, the digital platform provides additional opportunities for traders because sales no longer rely solely on consumers coming directly to the market.
“In a way, traders have two shops at once: a physical shop and a virtual shop. So, transaction opportunities can come from buyers outside the market. For traders and MSMEs, this is certainly profitable because the customer reach becomes wider,” he said.
Mafianto believes that the changing consumer behavior, which is increasingly accustomed to digital transactions, needs to be responded to by traders and MSMEs.
By utilizing digital platforms, business owners have the opportunity to reach consumers who were previously difficult to access through conventional sales patterns.
Besides expanding the market, the existence of digital platforms is also considered to increase transaction efficiency. Buyers can place orders more practically, while traders gain alternative marketing channels that have the potential to increase business turnover.
For MSMEs in Bojonegoro, this opportunity is quite significant, considering the region has a variety of superior products, ranging from processed foods and handicrafts to household products, most of which have been marketed locally.
The presence of a marketplace based on traditional markets is expected to be a bridge for these products to be known by a wider range of consumers.
Nevertheless, business owners hope that guidance and socialization regarding the use of digital platforms will continue to be carried out.
This step is considered important so that more MSMEs can utilize digital technology optimally, whether in marketing, business management, or customer service.
With the increasingly open market access through digital platforms, Bojonegoro MSMEs are expected to not only be able to retain existing customers but also reach new consumers and increase competitiveness amidst the development of the digital economy.
