Barru, JurnalPost.com — Barru Regent Andi Ina Kartika Sari has reminded the 11 newly inaugurated interim members of the Village Consultative Body (BPD) to carry out their duties with full responsibility and to uphold the trust placed in them by the community.
The message was delivered by Andi Ina after she inaugurated and administered the oath of office to the 11 interim BPD members for the 2021–2029 term at the Baruga Singkeru Adae, Barru Regent's Official Residence, on Monday (7/9/2026).
According to Andi Ina, the position of a BPD member is not merely a role within the village government structure. It carries a significant mandate that must be accounted for both to the community and to God.
“Your duties are noble. God has entrusted you with this mandate, and this is what we will be held accountable for later. Use this mandate as well as possible to provide the best for the community,” said Andi Ina.
She urged the newly inaugurated BPD members to truly safeguard the trust of the people in their respective areas of duty.
“Protect this mandate. Do not hurt the feelings of the people in your areas, because they are the ones who gave you their trust,” she emphasized.
Promoting Synergy Between BPD and Village Government
In her address, Andi Ina also highlighted the importance of building a harmonious partnership between the BPD and the village government.
She noted that these two elements of village-level governance play complementary roles in driving improvements in public services and development.
“Please work together with the village heads. Build synergy to provide the best for the communities in your respective areas of duty,” she said.
The Regent also invited all BPD members to take an active role in overseeing the development of Barru Regency.
She stated that the Barru Regency Government cannot work alone in realizing various regional development programs. Support from village governments, the BPD, and the community is a vital part of achieving established development targets.
“It is impossible for the Vice Regent and me to reach our goals without you accompanying us. Help us realize our political promises, which are now included in the Barru Regency Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMD) for the next five years,” she expressed.
Through collaboration from the regency level down to the village level, Andi Ina hopes that the vision for Barru Regency's development, namely A Just, Progressively Sustainable, and Faster Prospering Barru, can be realized together.
Appreciation for the BPD Interim Appointment Process
On this occasion, the Barru Regent also expressed her appreciation to the regional apparatus, sub-district heads, village governments, and all parties who coordinated the interim BPD appointment process until the inauguration could be carried out.
“Congratulations once again to everyone. May we all be granted health and strength to carry out the duties and mandates for which we are responsible,” she concluded.
