Cepu, JurnalPost.com — PT Pertamina Patra Niaga (PPN) is enhancing the competency of human resources in the downstream oil and gas sector through the Expert Professional Guidance (BPA) and Technical Personnel Skill Guidance (BKJT) programs held at the Human Resources Development Center for Oil and Gas (PPSDM Migas).
The program, which runs from October 5 to 30, 2026, is designed to strengthen technical understanding, operational skills, and the application of workplace safety standards in energy distribution activities.
The training covers various fields directly related to oil and gas industry activities, ranging from mechanical systems, electrical, and instrumentation to the management and testing of fuel oil (BBM).
Mastery of these skills is essential, as fuel distribution activities require precision at every stage, particularly to maintain product quality, worker safety, and operational efficiency.
Training instructor Alucky Novandy explained that the BPA and BKJT programs are part of an ongoing collaboration between Pertamina Patra Niaga and PPSDM Migas to prepare a workforce with competencies tailored to industry needs.
"Through this synergy, participants are expected to bring technical insights and reliable operational safety standards to their energy distribution duties across the country," said Alucky.
Participants Delve Into Various Oil and Gas Technical Fields
During the training, participants received theoretical instruction and practical materials related to oil and gas industry systems.
The core materials provided included mechanics, electrical, and instrumentation. These three fields are vital components in supporting the operation and maintenance of energy distribution facilities.
In addition to core materials, participants also learned specialized skills, such as tank gauging, oil and gas sampling, the operation of fuel blending processes (blending), and the duties and responsibilities of a Loading Master.
This training is aimed at ensuring participants understand the technical procedures applied in fuel handling, including aspects of measurement accuracy, quality control, and operational safety.
"The quality and precision of fuel standards also received significant focus. Participants were also trained as Non-Aviation and Aviation Fuel Testing Operators and were taught the principles of Aviation Operations," added Alucky.
Fuel testing material is a crucial part of the training because the characteristics and quality requirements of fuel must be verified to meet usage needs.
Field Studies at AFT Adi Sumarmo and Fuel Terminal Boyolali
In addition to classroom learning, participants had the opportunity to conduct field studies at two energy distribution facilities: the Aviation Fuel Terminal (AFT) Adi Sumarmo and the Fuel Terminal Boyolali.
The visits served as a means to introduce operational processes firsthand while providing an overview of how training materials are applied in fuel distribution activities.
Through these field studies, participants could observe the connection between measurement processes, quality testing, product handling, and the implementation of workplace safety procedures at energy facilities.
"Through these field observations, participants can link the theory of measurement, testing, and fuel handling with operational realities in the field," said Alucky.
The BPA and BKJT program is expected to support the increased readiness of Pertamina Patra Niaga's technical workforce in meeting the operational demands of the downstream oil and gas sector.
By combining theoretical learning with exposure to field conditions, the training is part of a human resource development effort oriented toward competency, work precision, and safety in national energy distribution.
