Pamekasan, JurnalPost.com — The Islamic Students Association (HMI) Pamekasan Branch held its BAKTI CITA program, which included a joint prayer and a charity event for orphans at the HMI Pamekasan Secretariat on Tuesday (10/20/2026).
The event served as a form of social outreach while honoring HMI alumni who have passed away. Through this agenda, the HMI Pamekasan Branch aims to strengthen ties among members, commemorate the contributions of predecessors, and cultivate a spirit of community service.
The joint prayer was held to seek forgiveness and blessings from Allah SWT for the deceased HMI alumni. Beyond serving as a moment to reflect on the struggles of previous generations, the activity reminded members that the organization's core values must be preserved and passed down.
Meanwhile, the charity for orphans was part of the HMI Pamekasan Branch's effort to foster empathy and social solidarity. This assistance is viewed not only as an act of care for others but also as a reminder that students hold social responsibilities within the community.
Acting General Chair of the HMI Pamekasan Branch, Jaka Suma Ramadhani, stated that BAKTI CITA is an effort to actualize the values of 'Insan Cita' (the ideal HMI individual) in daily life.
According to him, HMI should not merely be a place to gather, discuss, and develop intellectual skills. Student organizations must also be present through activities that provide direct benefits to the community.
“For us, HMI is not just a place to process and organize, but a space to learn how to serve and cultivate care for others. Through the joint prayer, we honor the struggles of the alumni who came before us, while through the charity for orphans, we learn that the values of our struggle must be manifested in concrete actions,” said Jaka.
He also reminded all HMI Pamekasan Branch members to remain steadfast in the organization's founding principles and maintain their commitment to fulfilling their responsibilities as members.
Jaka believes that maintaining the sustainability of an activist organization requires sincerity, patience, and a willingness to sacrifice time, energy, and thought.
“Because sustaining an activist organization is not as easy as seeking a living within the organization. There is time, energy, thought, and even sacrifice that must be given. However, true struggle is not about how much we gain, but how much benefit we can provide to others,” he emphasized.
On the other hand, the Chairperson of the BAKTI CITA committee, Taupik, hopes that the event will not end as a mere ceremonial agenda. He wants the values contained within it to be applied sustainably by the members.
According to Taupik, strengthening Islamic values, solidarity, and social awareness is an essential part of the character-building process for students, especially HMI members.
“Through this activity, the HMI Pamekasan Branch reaffirms its commitment to continue presenting movements that are not only oriented toward strengthening the intellect and leadership of members but also touch upon spiritual dimensions and community care,” said Taupik.
Through BAKTI CITA, the HMI Pamekasan Branch aims to position service as an inseparable part of organizational activity. The joint prayer serves as a means to remember and appreciate the struggles of predecessors, while the charity for orphans serves as a form of applying humanitarian values.
This activity also serves as a reminder that the spirit of student struggle is not only manifested through ideas and discussions but also through actions that bring benefits to the surrounding environment.
